Adding a Package to an Order
Sales Packages are an easy way for reps to add many products to an order at one time. To review how to create sales packages, manage their contents, and change how they display on contracts, see the Set up a Sales Package help center page. Once your packages are set up, reps can begin adding them to orders.
When you get to the Products page of your order, choose Add Package from the Actions drop-down menu.
The form Add Package will appear as a pop-up. The Name and Package fields are required. Choose the Package from the drop-down menu. Once the package is selected, you will see the line items you must complete. The package line items are determined when setting up the package under Settings > Sales > Packages.
Next, you will need to edit each of the line items in the package. Click on the pencil icon to see the required fields. The required fields will depend on the items you set up and your system configurations.
Warning
You will not be able to save your package to the order until all the required information is selected for each line item.
Each line item will require certain fields to complete the process.
Print: You will see that you need to pick the Category, Publication, and Issues. Once you select the Publication, then you will be able to select the available Issues. If you selected a Position when adding the line item to the package contents, then you’ll also see that reflected here and it cannot be changed. Otherwise, you may or may not be required to select the Position from the drop-down menu during this step.
Important
You must match the number of Issues to the Frequency of the ad. For example, if the frequency is set to “3x” then you will need to make sure that three different issues are selected from the menu.
Digital: Ad Items in the Category, Publication, Issues, and Units are required. The Start Run Date and End Run Date may or may not be required based on your settings.
Impression: Items in the Publication, Channel, Start Run date, and End Run date are required. The system will create a line item for each month in your date range. The system will also split the impression amount evenly across the months. For example, if the impression items has 30,000 units and you enter 7/15 - 8/15, the system will create 2 line items for 15,000 units each.
Slot Items: Depending on the product, the Position/Channel and Size may or may not be required. You must select a date for each quantity set up on the package. For example, if the units are set to 3, you must select 3 dates.
Targeted Display Items: For Targeted Display products, Publication, Start and End Run dates, and Category are required fields. If the item spans multiple months, a line item will be created for each month.
Reserved Items: You will be required to choose a Publication, Start and End Run date, and Category. A single line item will be created for this item when the package is added to the order, even if the quantity is greater than 1, or spans multiple months.
Services: You are able to select an Initial Status, Billing Date, Due Date, Event Date, and Publication.
Event Items: Whether this item is a Ticket type or Booth type, you will be required to choose the Event and the product. Only Ticket products or Booth products for the chosen event will show up, depending on which product type you are using.
Once you’ve selected all the required details for each line item in the package, click Save to add the package to your order.
Note
If you’re missing one of the required fields you will get a message to edit and complete any highlighted line items. Click on the pencil icon next to the highlighted line item to see the missing required field(s).
After the package is saved to the order, you will see each of the line items along with the package total at the bottom of the page. Review all the line items in your order. If you need to edit or remove any line item(s) from the order, then go to the ellipsis icon next to the line item and select Edit or Delete. You will be able to see how both the line item and total package price are modified before saving any changes.
Warning
The system doesn't prevent you or other users from adding/removing/editing package items from an order.
