Use the search fields to choose a Start Month and Start Year for the comparison. When the report runs, it will pull up data for the year selected, in addition to the previous year’s totals. For example, if you want to compare 2021’s sales to 2020, then choose 2021 as your start year. The report can be filtered by various fields including product type, specific product, publication, brand, product category, and rep. Use these fields to find the exact comparisons you are looking for.

When the report is run, you will see both a table and a graph comparing the two years’ sales. The table will display sales broken down by month. Each month will have a total for the current year, a total for the previous year, the YTD total for the current and previous years, as well as the total difference and the YTD difference. Both the Total Difference and the Total YTD Difference columns are calculated by subtracting the previous year’s value from the start year’s value. If your start year’s value is greater than the previous years, then the Difference column will show up in green. Alternatively, if it’s less than the previous year’s value, it will show up as a negative number, and will be in red.

The graph shows similar data to the table, but in a different format. The graph charts the Year-to-Date Revenue for each of the years being compared. By hovering over one of the data points, you can see the exact value.

The results of this report are grouped by month based on reporting dates, not the date the product was sold. For example, if a sale was made in August for an October issue, the sale value would display in October.
