Connect with Smartsheet Example
Smartsheet is a spreadsheet software designed to help teams manage projects and stay connected. You can connect Ad Orbit to Smartsheet at a project level or tickets. In the below example we will connect Ad tickets to a Smartsheet grid and update Ad Orbit tickets when a row in Smartsheet is modified.
Before getting started, make sure you have invites to the Ad Orbit ticket zap. You will also need to have active API keys for a user to connect your Zapier account.
The first step is to create a row in Smartsheet when a ticket is created in Ad Orbit. You need to connect your site and trigger the event when a new ticket is created. In this example we will use ad ticket.
The next part of the workflow is to populate the grid row with information from the ticket. You can include whatever data you want, but you must include the ticket ID if you want to update the ticket when a change is made in Smartsheet.
Below, we will include such information as company name, assigned user, status, status notes, publication and issues.
Now that the workflows are tested, we can see what happens when a ticket is created in Ad Orbit and how it shows up in Smartsheet.
if your team is using Smartsheet to track ticket data, you can setup a zap to update the ticket status when a row is modified. Smartsheet does not have a trigger based on column type, but you can use the filter option in Zapier to find specific changes to the row.

You may need to create multiple zaps or use paths if you want to track different status changes.
To start, we will create a step for row modified in Smartsheet. This trigger will look for all modifications to Smartsheet rows. We only want changes to happen in Ad Orbit when the status field changes so we need to add another step.
The second step will be a filter on a particular column, in this case status. We will look for a change to the column that includes the status name we are looking for. Let's say we want to update the Ad Orbit ticket status when a file is reading for final review. We will look for a change to the status column that includes 'PDF.'
Now we need to add the action for Ad Orbit by selecting the update ticket status trigger. The next part is why we need to make sure we include the ticket ID in Smarthsheet. We need to find the ticket in Ad Orbit by using the ID. We will enter the ID from Smartsheet and then choose the field we want to update, in this case status.
If we use their status changes, we can create a new workflow with the same steps and different filter.
