The Distribution module can function differently for each customer based on system configurations. Here are all the configurations you may want to review before using the system. All of our help documents will give you an overview of how the system works, but you may need to consult support for specific workflow issues based on your configurations and can use our guided walkthroughs for step-by-step direction.

There are multiple parts of your site you may want to review before using this module. Make sure you have the following items setup:

The system requires you select a distribution display when creating a location. The admin user can add additional distribution displays to the system. Your system is initially setup with the following options: 2 racks, Clear Rack, Drop Off, In-room, Rack. To edit the displays that are in the system or to add additional display options, follow the steps below:

Navigate to Settings > Distribution > Distribution Display.
Click on Add Distribution Display. You must add a name and a color. The color will show up as the flag color when viewing a map of your locations drop-offs.
If you disable a display option that is in use, you will need to assign the active options to another active option.

You can use your company categories as location categories. Location categories are used when setting up a distribution location to determine the business type.

To assign a company category as a distribution category, go to Settings > Distribution > Distribution Categories.
You will see a multi-select option with a list of all your company categories. Select which company categories you want to become location categories.
When you save, your location categories list will update and you can assign the new category when creating a location.

Every distribution location requires a category. You can either use the company category or create a new location category. You should use location categories if you do not want the category to show up when creating your other company records. Location categories will only show up when setting up distribution locations.

Create and modify location categories under Settings > Distribution > Location Categories.
Click on the Add Location button to create a new category.
You can also edit or disable any other category.
