Delete a Contact

You can delete contacts as long as there is no order associated with the contact.  In order to delete a contact, you must have permission to both deactivate and delete it.

Danger

Once a contact is deleted you will NOT be able to recover them from the system. Be careful!

  • You first need to deactivate contact. You can't deactivate a contact if they are the primary contact for a company. You can update the primary contact by going to the company and using the quick actions to modify contact types.

  • You will see the option to Permanently Delete a contact once he or she is inactive.

  • Some contacts can't be permanently deleted. For example, you can't permanently delete a contact if they have a financial history with you; this means any order or invoice record. The system will alert you when this is the case.
