Setting Issue Budgets for Writer and Photographer Purchase Orders
You can restrict your users from creating a new editorial assignment if the assignment will cause the issue to go over budget. You must first create an issue budget. You can permit users the ability to create editorials that go over your budget.
You can set your editorial budget by going to the Settings > Products > Publication & Issue Setup. From here, click on Manage Issues from the ellipsis to the right of the desired publication. Edit any of your Current Issues to add a budget.
Enter an amount in the editorial budget field. You can view your editorial budgets on the Publication Metrics Report.
An editorial with a writer and photographer assigned will count towards the overall issue budget. No user will be able to go beyond your budget unless they have permission.
For example, if you have an issue with a budget of 10,000 and you already have 9,000 in assignments, a user can’t create a new editorial with any amount over 1,000.
If a user tries to create an editorial, he or she will be notified that the editorial is over budget.
You can choose to either increase the issue budget or give the user permission to create the editorial.
