Commission Plan Options

You can set a user’s commission plan based on an order sales date or the issue-reporting date.  The plan determines the commission percentage for the user.  You can update a user’s commission plan at any time.

  • You can choose the date option you want under the Settings > System Configurations > Organization - Commissions.

  • The commission plan date is set up on the user’s profile under the Settings > Users > User Setup.  The Comp Plan Start determines when the user’s commission plan is used to calculate eligible commissions.

  • By default, the system will use the order sales date.  The order sales date would be the date an order is 100% confirmed.  The sales rep will receive the commission plan that is in effect at the time of the order sales date.  The user will get the same commission plan for every line item on an order.  For example, if your user has a commission plan for 2019 where they get 10%, the entire order will get a 10% commission.

  • You can set up a plan for 2020 before the end of 2019.

  • You can also choose to use Issue Date.  Creating a commission plan by issue date means a user could receive different commission plans on the same order.  For example, if you have a commission plan for 2019 issues of 10% and a commission plan for 2020 issues of 15%, an order approved in 2019 with issues in both years will use both plans.  All the line items with an issue reporting date in 2019 will get a 10% commission.  All the line with an issue date of 2020 will get a commission of 15%.
