Syncing Digital Media Products to your Google Ad Manager Accounts
You will have to have Ad Units, Placements, and Targeting Presets built-in GAM to sync with the system. Only Placement and Ad Units are required to integrate the two systems, but presets can help you target specific demographics for your customers.
Important
You don't need to worry about ad sizes if you plan to sync items to GAM. The system will know what ad sizes are needed based on what Google says are available for your selected ad units.
With Placements and Presets set up and your system is connected to GAM, go to Sales > Rate Cards & Ad Sizes to sync your site to GAM. Click on the Sync with Google Ad Manager link on the top right of the page. The system will pull in all of your active placements and presets.
Map your placements by going to the placement tabs on the Rate Cards & Ad Sizes page. Set the placement as digital and type in the name of the GAM placement. Now, any time you sell a Placement in the system, it will create a line item in GAM with the synced GAM placement.
Note
You don't have to worry about setting up creative sizes. The system will pull in all the possible creative sizes based on your GAM setup.
Map your presets by going to the Position/Channels field and going through the same process as you did with placements. Channels (Presets) are useful for targeting and usually will have a higher price point.
Tip
Make sure to keep your system in sync. Any time a new placement or preset in GAM is created, you will need to hit the sync link and create the new placement and channel in Ad Orbit.
Now you need to go to your publication set up and add what placement and channels are available for each publication. Update your publication under Settings > Production > Publication & Issue setup.
Tip
Publications are typically the name of your website(s). You may need multiple publications or just a few with a lot of different products. Your set up will depend on how your GAM account set up.
Now with all your GAM items synced and mapped to your publications, you can create Digital Media Impression products and start selling and delivering!
