Publication Goal Metrics

The report shows you your sales and goals by publications and compares it to the previous year. You can filter by publications and the issue date ranges. Use this report to find out how well you are tracking to achieving your publication goals in a time period and how it compares to previous years. You can drill down into more sales and goals date in the Sales Rep Goal Metrics report.

When the report is run, the results will display in a table format, and shows various metrics about the publication goals and sales. Some of these metrics include total sales for the selected date range, the goal and how much of the goal has been reached, when the last sale was made, and how the same publication performed a year ago.

Goal: The goal column is calculated by adding together each rep’s issue goals for the publication, for any issue that falls within the date range.
Daily Sales Goal: This column is a slightly more complex calculation. The number that shows up here is determined by dividing each issue’s (that falls within the date range) goal by 30 days.
- For example, if you have an issue in March whose goal is $1500, and you use March as your date range, your Daily Sales Goal would end up being $50, or $1500/30 days. If, then, you expand your date range to include April, and your April issue’s goal is $700, then your Daily Sales Goal would be $1500/30 days, plus $700/30 days, for a Daily Sales Goal of $73.33.
Year Ago Sales: The total sales for a publication for the same date range, but one year prior. For example, if you search for a date range of February 2021, the data that will show up in this column will be the total sales for that publication from February 2020.
% YOY Growth: This field is either the percent increase or percent decrease when comparing the Total Sales to the Year Ago Sales for the chosen date range.
