Projects Billing
The Projects Billing Report breaks down project hours based on project and milestone. The report displays the total assigned, actual, billed, and remaining hours for each project and milestone, allowing you to easily keep track of your project progress.
Before using this report, we recommend you have the following set up:
To access the report, you must have the User Permission ‘Access Projects Billing Report’
Report Search and Results
Use the search fields to narrow down the report results. You can choose whichever projects you would like to view by using the Project multi-select, or you can filter by project manager, project type, date range, company and vendor. If you have project dynamic attributes, you can search by those as well. There is also the choice to include or exclude archived projects.
The table will be broken up by project and milestone, for all the projects that fit in your search criteria. For each project, you will see the associated company (when applicable) and the project manager. The company name is a quick link which will bring you to the company’s page in the system. There will also be data about the project’s hours. Any milestones for the project will also have data in the hours columns, so you can easily see which milestones your project hours are going towards.
The Total Assigned Hours are calculated based on the hours set on tasks associated with a milestone. When you add or edit tasks on your projects, you can enter a value in the Hours field for how long you expect the task to take. So, for example, let’s say you have one milestone on your project, and that milestone has two tasks. The first task has an expected 2 hours, and the second task has an expected 3. Therefore, your total assigned hours for that milestone would be 5 hours. For each project, your Total Assigned Hours column is calculated by adding together all your milestones’ total assigned hours.
The Total Actual Hours column is determined by the number of hours users have recorded to their timesheets for the project tasks.
When hours show up in this column is influenced by the System Configuration ‘Only Show Approved Hours’. If the configuration is set to No, hours will appear in this column once a user has added them to a timesheet. If set to Yes, the hours will only show up here once the timesheet has been submitted and approved.
Total Billed Hours are hours that have already been billed to the client.
The Total Remaining Hours are simply the Total Assigned Hours minus the Total Actual Hours. If your team has gone over in their project hours, a negative value will show up here.
