Import and Export Issue Inventory Levels
You can export inventory amounts on your issues and import any new inventory using the system importers. There are two inventory importers: Print and Digital. The importers will affect the available inventory, not what has been sold.
Exporting Inventory
You can generate an inventory file from the add/edit issue page. We recommend exporting the file before you import inventory even if you don’t have inventory set up. The file exporter will make it easier to import your data if you will be importing later on.
Go to Settings > Products > Publication & Issue Setup. By using the ellipsis icon on a publication, go to the Manage Issues page. Here, you can click the Export Inventory action for your current issues and your previous issues.
A print issue inventory file will include the Issue ID, Issue Name, Position ID, Position Name, and Current Inventory amount.
A digital issue inventory file will include the Issue ID, Issue Name, Ad Size ID, Ad Size Name, and Frequency Options.
Importing Inventory
To import new inventory levels for your issues, go to Settings > Data Import/Export > Import Data. Under the Import Type dropdown, you can choose from Inventory Import (Print) or Inventory Import (Digital).
The Inventory Import (print) requires you to map Issue, Position, and Inventory.
The Inventory Import (digital) requires you to map Issue, Ad Size, and each of the frequency types. If you don’t use some of the frequency types, you should leave the fields blank. If you have unlimited inventory, you should leave the field blank. You must have permission to upload digital inventory.
Once the imports are run, the inventory levels on your issues will be updated with the new data.
Tip
We recommend you export your current inventory from the system, update the file, and import the modified file. You will guarantee your headers and mappings are accurate before doing the import. No mapping required!
