Use Lead Statuses in Workflows

You can use Lead Statuses in automation to either trigger actions or you can use a trigger to modify a Lead Status.  Below are a few examples of how to use Lead Statuses in Automation Workflows.

  • You must create a contact workflow to leverage your Lead Statuses.  You can use either an active or inactive workflow.

  • To trigger an action using lead status, you must use an active workflow.  In the example below, the lead status is used to add a contact to a new list and creates a to-do.  The system is finding any user with a lead status of engaged and adding them to a list.  You can use the list in a future drip campaign. The system is also creating a to-do for the owner to follow-up in 5 days.

  • You can update a lead status in an inactive or active workflow. In the example, the lead status for a contact is going to get updated if the contact has been inactive for 14 days. Any contact not updated within that window will get a new lead status of ‘Dead’.
