Bill Subscription Now
The Bill Subscription Now feature allows a user to apply a payment to a subscription as soon as it is created. The streamlined process gives users the ability to easily take subscriptions over the phone without jumping screens.
Note
The Bill Subscription Now functionality is only available when creating a subscription, not when editing an existing subscription.
On the Create Subscription page, there is now a checkbox for Bill Subscription Now. The checkbox cannot be selected until the subscription Status is marked as Approved, the Shipping is set to Yes, and the cost is more than $0.
Once the Bill Subscription Now box has been checked, the user will be able to choose from various payment methods. A user can either record a payment with cash or check, or record a payment using a one-time specified credit card.
Tip
If your site is configured with a payment processor, you will be able to process an existing credit card, or enter new credit card details.
Users also have the choice of selecting a subscription invoice template. If there is a default set for subscription invoices, the drop-down list of options will automatically select the default.
Now, when a user clicks Create Subscription, there will be a pop-up displaying information about the invoice and whether or not it was paid.
In order to make this change, we have removed the option to associate a credit card with a specific subscription. Instead, the credit card will be tied to the subscription invoice. By clicking on the ellipsis edit action for an invoice on the Subscription Invoice search page, you will see a pop-up which shows if a credit card is associated with the invoice.
